ABSTRACT
This study is conducted in order to to reveal the development of patient examination time in 18 OECD countries between 2002 and 2018 including Turkey and, in order to provide a comparative examination of the average time between the year in question. In addition, it was aimed to examine the relationship between the changes in examination times in 18 OECD countries and the number of physicians and the number of applications to health institutions between 2002-2018. Within the scope of the research, considering the practical or realizable capacity) of a health institution in the comparison of examination times, average examination times per capita in countries are used as basic data. Research results in terms of average time per capita of the countries examined, the average inspection time per capita in Turkey has reached the conclusion that decreases with each passing year. However, the average inspection time per capita is below the OECD average in Turkey have also been identified. Despite important increase of the number of physicians over the years in Turkey, important increase in the number of applications are considered to be an important factor in increasing the examination time. In addition, in the study, the country with the lowest average examination time for 2018 was determined to be South Korea with 16 minutes. Sweden is the country with the highest average examination time per capita.
