ABSTRACT

Investments aimed at enhancing the health levels of societies and supporting their economic and social welfare are referred to as health expenditures. These expenditures are a significant indicator of economic development and contribute to the workforce by improving individuals’ quality of life. Consequently, past studies on health expenditures and future predictions hold substantial importance. This study attempts to project the future health expenditures per capita in Türkiye. In order to achieve the objective of the study, health expenditure per capita data for the 1975-2020 period were analysed using the Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) method. The results indicate that health expenditures per capita in Türkiye tend to increase by an average of 3% annually until 2035. The data obtained from this study provide evidencebased information to industry stakeholders, particularly health managers and policymakers. The study also emphasizes the need for strategic financial planning to address future challenges and seize opportunities in the health sector.
